This presentation will provide a definition of the healthcare supply chain and outline some existing challenges in end-to-end supply chain execution from the point of manufacture to the point of care. The speaker will utilize the Supply Chain Operating Reference (SCOR) Model to outline current trends and potential opportunities for improvement in the healthcare supply chain. Examples of improvement opportunities will include best practice leveraging from other industries, inter-organizational partnership opportunities and new technologies that may reshape the healthcare supply chain. The learning objectives are to:

  • Better understand some of these trends and their impact on the healthcare supply chain
  • Gain understanding how improvements in the healthcare supply chain can have a positive impact on care delivery while also improving system-wide efficiencies and costs


Bob Rowe, Manager Supply Chain Customer Solutions
Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices Canada

Bob Rowe is Manager, Supply Chain Customer Solutions at Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices Canada. He leads a team of Analysts and Solutions Specialists to develop and implement solutions to better integrate J&J’s supply chains with those of their Canadian healthcare customers.

Bob has over 11 years of experience with J&J having worked in global supply chains in diverse roles across the plan, source, make and deliver functions. Through these roles he has supported J&J’s global supply chains and worked directly with J&J healthcare customers in the US and Canadian marketplaces.

Bob holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Supply Chain Management from Penn State University and a MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business. He holds professional certifications from APICS and the Institute for Supply Management and is a J&J certified Lean Black Belt.
